Images of the Improbable
Malcolm Crocker’s imaginary landscapes are set in unknown and improbable locations. They challenge our perceptions as a sentient species confined on a small green planet. Like it or not, we are located in an infinity of time and space. Images therefore draw on the almost unavoidable conclusion that out there somewhere there could well be landforms, structures, histories, artefacts, cultures, beginnings and endings which are different to our own.
These paintings do not provide answers but they do invite the viewer to reflect and speculate. Perhaps in doing so, we might also consider our own plight and future on a planet which we are using and abusing? Malcolm’s Work has been shown widely in this country and abroad. Malcolm graduated from Winchester College of Art (part of Southampton University) with a BA in Fine Art in 2009.
