Folk Diva Vikki Clayton is an iconic figure in the world of folk music and is renowned for her exceptional songwriting prowess and innovative guitar work that have redefined the genre. With a career marked by poetic lyricism she is an outstanding performer well known for her work with Fairport Convention.

Vikki Clayton’s contributions to folk music in the UK is nothing short of extraordinary.

Vikki first came to prominencewith eight-piece electric folk band from England named after an Albion Band track Ragged Heroes. She went on to a solo career and guested with regular guested with Fairport Convention.

When Vikki departed Ragged Heroes she released numerous critically acclaimed solo albums. Recognised as a fine interpreter of the late Sandy Denny's work – she was a regular in the so- called ‘ Sandy spot’ at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention for years. Vikki Clayton is now resident in New Zealand but returns each year for her annual tour of Blighty.

In 2026 she is extending the length of her UK stay to hopefully include quite a few folk festivals. Vikki Clayton is loved respected and revered by folk music fans across the world and as she says “I keep doing what I do best because I just love to sing and folk music is what I think I do best”
