Woodfalls Band in Concert
Woodfalls Band is a Championship Section brass band based in the village of Woodfalls in the New Forest, on the Hampshire–Wiltshire border.
Established in 1874, the Band has grown from a local village ensemble to an award-winning group, recognised nationally for both its competitive success and concert performances.
For as long as brass bands have existed they have competed against each other in competitions. The achievements of Woodfalls Band on the contest stage are remarkable. The Band has twice been crowned winner of the esteemed Grand Shield competition, received five invitations to perform in the elite British Open competition, and made eleven appearances at the prestigious National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall. Among its many accolades, the Band has retained the title of Wessex Champions an impressive 23 times.
Beyond contests, Woodfalls Band is highly regarded for its concert work, collaborating with celebrated artists such as the Risca Male Voice Choir, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and soloists like world-renowned trumpeters Crispian Steele-Perkins and the Principal Trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra, James Fountain.
The Band has travelled internationally to perform at high-profile venues; but whatever the stage – from the Royal Albert Hall to our local care home – we consider it a privilege to spread the joy and fun of brass band music to our audiences.
